What does this mean?

Battlefield 1942 servers will no longer be visible in the in-game server browser after June the 30th.
The in-game Battlefield 1942 server browser will no longer function. The game will simply freeze when opening the server list until it times out.

You can fix this by following the next steps:

Solution

  • Run the program by double-clicking it.
  • You will see this:

  • Click Patch:

  • If you've done this succesfully, you will see this:

  • Click Exit:

You are done! The Battlefield 1942 in-game server browser will now function correctly.

A lot of casual players will disappear, only a tiny percentage of the Oz Wake players will know this forum, or even know that the server list will disappear. Maybe some server message might help.

But on the positive side, the people who really love this game will (?) hopefully stay :D Players will know each other, cheaters will be GONE 100%, will it be as fun as now? We will see xD

I think a in-game message wil indeed help,
and it would be great if the game becomes more fun now, well see :D

With Gamespy ending support for multiplayer services will BFBC2, BF2, and BF2142 be recieving any kind of patch or fix?
We're working on transitioning those games after the shut down so you'll still be able to play them.

Let's keep our fingers crossed. Battlefield 1942 is not listed though I'd expect the change will also affect Battlefield 1942.

EA probably moved on, Battlefield 1942 is no longer a priority in their world. All the fat bastards there only want money, they don't give two shits about anyone who buys any of their products and check on their satisfaction. Sim City is the perfect example of those half-assed games/ ridiculously priced money machines. Sad what money can do to a person.
